El M82 es un fusil de alta potencia SASR (fusil de aplicaciones especiales con mira telescópica, por sus siglas en inglés) desarrollado por la firma "Barrett FireArms Company" de los Estados Unidos. Actualmente es parte del equipo de muchas unidades especiales y Ejércitos del mundo, incluyendo las Fuerzas Especiales estadounidenses. También es llamado "Cincuenta Ligero" por su calibre .50 (12,7 mm). El arma tiene dos variantes — la original M82A1 (y A3) y la bullpup M82A2. La M82A2 ya no se produce, aunque la XM500 puede verse como su sucesor espiritual, empleándose la configuración bullpup.
The M82 is a high powered rifle SASR (special applications rifle with telescopic sights, for its acronym in English) developed by the firm "Barrett Firearms Company of America. Currently the team of many special units and armies of the world, including U.S. Special Forces. It is also called "Light Fifty" for its .50 caliber (12.7 mm). The gun has two variants - the original M82A1 (and A3) and the bullpup M82A2. The M82A2 is no longer manufactured, though XM500 can be seen as his spiritual successor, using the bullpup configuration.
